« BackPresident Obama Nominates Next Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing and Services

President Obama has nominated Nicole Y. Lamb-Hale to serve as the next Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing and Services. Lamb-Hale is the Deputy General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce. In this role, she assists the General Counsel as the chief legal officer for the Department and legal advisor to the Secretary, Secretarial Officers and other officers of the Department, including heads of operating units. Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Lamb-Hale was the Managing Partner of the Detroit office of the law firm of Foley & Lardner LLP where she specialized in business restructuring.
She has been a frequent lecturer on restructuring matters with a particular emphasis in recent years on the automotive industry. Lamb-Hale has received many honors for her accomplishments and leadership including being named a Super Lawyer for three successive years and one of Detroit’s Most Influential Women by a leading business publication. She received her B.A. with high honors from the University of Michigan in 1988 and her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1991.
Throughout the transition to the new Administration, One Voice maintained strong relationships with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing, working with the career policy staff at the Department on developing a manufacturing policy.
